About

Your Hosts Larry Steinhouse and Rick Lee

Larry and Rick met at the first 25 Million Dollar Masterminds Group meeting in February of 2010.  Rick became a student of Larry’s money training and really took some serious action on the advice given by Larry.  The purpose of the group was to change the financial lifestyle of all of the members.  In a short period of time the results have become obvious and all of the regular attendees have shown great progress.

It was during a meeting of the 25 Million Dollar Masterminds Group that Larry and Rick came up with the idea of “Money Chat Today”.  They both have a desire to serve and help others in the areas of money education.

The show is to give the audience practical ways to make more money and help them keep it!

We hope you are enjoying this series.

Rick LeeRickLee bio About

Hi Friends,

I’m honored to offer my experience with the intent that It will make you richer in every area of your life – financially, emotionally, physically, and spiritually.  When you have more money than you need, you are better equipped to take care of these other vital areas.  That is my goal and my fervent desire for you.

Let me share a little bit with you about my financial background so you can know who I am and how I can help you:

1. I worked for 5+ years as a Registered Representative for the Vanguard Group of Investment Companies, the second-largest Mutual Fund Company in the world, and known for its commitment to integrity and low-costs. I joke that it was “a school that I got paid to go to”. The training was amazing, and it was ongoing. Not only did I learn an incredible amount about the financial markets, but I also learned the value of common sense, cost-controls and integrity. It was am amazing experience, one of the best of my life – pivotal.

2. I bought, expanded, ran, and sold a Janitorial Business, one of the hardest businesses to run. There is one word for the janitorial business, and that word is ‘brutal’. Long hours, much stress, hard physical labor, endless employee hassles, customer complaints, you name it. If you can do a janitorial business, you can do anything. I took it from 1 customer to 15 customers in 10 years, and sold it for 50 times what I paid for it!

In that business, I learned “Street Business 101”. What I learned in the Janitorial business you can’t learn in Harvard Business School . You can only learn it by experience, getting your teeth kicked in a few times! I did, and I survived. Here’s just some of what I learned:

  1. Customer Service
  2. Sales
  3. Accounting (I’m self-taught in Quicken)
  4. Hiring
  5. Firing (did a lot of that!)
  6. Dealing with emergencies
  7. Scheduling
  8. Disciplining employees (did a lot of that!)
  9. Billing and collections
  10. Managing cash flow (that knowledge is priceless – running out of cash kills more businesses than anything else)

3. I survived a real financial “meltdown” – an extremely ugly situation where I co-signed a loan for a (former) friend and it went bad. This was a 10-year debacle, complete with numerous debt-collection calls, lawyers, broken promises, sleepless nights, incredible anger and depression, damage to my credit report and much emotional pain as well as thousands of dollars down the drain. I have plenty to say about this subject and I even created a website for the exclusive purpose of warning people about the consequences of co-signing:

4. I practice the “financial success basics” every day:

A. I tithe to the spiritual organization of my choice
B. I always and automatically put 10% of every dollar I receive into an ‘untouchable account’. I do not spend the money in this account for any reason.
C.  I reconcile all of my financial transactions, at least every other day, including all cash expenses, and I know my net worth down to the penny at all times.
D. I only use credit cards in an extreme emergency (I needed a new battery and alternator for my car and I didn’t have the money). Actually I despise credit cards! I always pay more than the minimum on credit card bills; 20% of my gross income goes toward any credit card bill until it’s annihilated!
